New techniques, Tosca-Wasca.

Since more than 4 years Dr F. Goes has, in collaboration with Zeiss Meditec, developed techniques of "Customized Ablation". With these techniques an individual program will be prepared for each patient. Then the laser calculates, again on a personalised basis, the necessary shot program in order to obtain an optimal result. With Tosca, "Topography Supported Customized Ablation", a laser treatment is realised based upon topography data.

With "Wasca", Wavefront Guided Customized Ablation, the limit is nearly the sky. With this program we'll be able to correct higher order aberrations, this means, defects that were till now uncorrectable with spectacles. The Shack-Hartmann aberrometer will measure the defects and the specially made program will correct them.
Using this technique some patients will gain in acuity and in some eyes the optical quality will improve.
